Narcissus tazetta (Galille bulb, Chinese sacred lily) is an ornamental plant that grows from a bulb. Having a bulb allows the plant to go through an annual cycle between periods of growth and dormancy to protect itself from unfavorable conditions like drought. When dormant, the plant produces dormancy-inducing factors called DORMINs that reversibly inhibit cell proliferation.
