Wesource launches ASPAR'AGETM, a new healthy-aging active ingredient

SEPPIC, along with its dedicated brand for cosmetic active ingredients wesourceTM, offers a new active ingredient from the red seaweed Asparagopsis armata, reducing the contagious aging.

Our skin is constantly under stresses, resulting in accelerate aging with visible modifications like wrinkles, firmness loss. Aging generates senescent cells, which are cells affected by functional & morphological modifications. These senescent cells release a "Senescence Messaging Secretome" also called "SMS" that affects neighboring young cells accelerating their aging process what we call the contagious aging.

The extract of Asparagopsis armata regulates the impact of "SMS" in order to reduce the contagious aging effect on young cells. ASPAR'AGETM protects young cells from senescence induced by "SMS".

By feeding on Asparagopsis armata which contains Mycosporine-like aminoacids (MAA), sea hares (marine animal) develop an intraspecific alarm through chemical communication base on MAA. Using a bio-inspiration approach, Seppic investigated if the MAA might also provide skin benefit in a regulation of cell-to-cell communication, and developed an extract of Asparagopsis armata containing MAA, ASPAR'AGETM.

Thanks to a new model of evaluation in vitro developed by SEPPIC, ASPAR'AGETM is able to protect young cells from senescence induced by SMS, offering the perfect solution to reduce contagious aging.

As a clinical benefit, ASPAR'AGETM improves the perception of age. After a 28 day treatment, people compare the pictures of each volunteer D28 versus D0. ASPAR'AGETM contributes to improve the skin appearance. Skin is perceived younger by people , which is also confirmed by instruments measurements .

ASPAR'AGETM reduces the contagious aging by regulating the effects of "Senescence Messaging Secretome" on skin.
